The tablecloths are floral instead of red and white check and there are real candleholdersi nstead of wax-encrusted Chianti bottles, but Argiero's is nonetheless a very traditional, family-owned Italian restaurant, with the Argiero sons running the floor and Mama Rosa's family recipes bubbling away in the kitchen. There's a warm feeling shared between the Argieros and their customers, exemplified in the countless photos of smiling regulars lining the restaurant's foyer. The menu features southern Italian classics such as ravioli, spaghetti with meatballs and lasagna, but if you like something spicier, stick with more adventurous entrees such as spicy eggplant sauce over spaghetti, a homestyle veal and tomato basil sauce, and pepperonata, a high-octane ratatouille of sorts made from hot peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and other vegetables served alone as an appetizer or as an entree over Italian bread with, if you like, a side of Italian sausage. Carry-out available and free delivery to a limited area; delivery to outlying areas costs an additional $2.
